Stable
Manager (SM) is an attempt to duplicate much of the functionality of Stable
Tool (ST). It is not an exact copy of Stable Tool. SM has additional features
that are not offered in ST but also is lacking a few of the options that were
used in ST.
SM is not
a professional program. If you choose to use it you do so with full
responsibility. I have made my best attempt to create a useful tool for
interaction with the Sim but offer no guarantees that it will work to your
satisfaction or that I will be able to keep it functioning after the rewrite.
If you are regular ST user you understand how much the use of that program
improves your Sim experience. I can only hope that you may find SM as useful.
1. SM
will install on both Win XP and Vista machines. . I know from past experience
that ST didn’t install on systems running an operating system prior to XP and I
expect SM to have the same problem. Only attempt to install this program on an
XP or later Windows system.
2. You need to download an install package (Package.zip) and run a regular install. The program will go to c:\Program Files\ Stable Manager folder.
3. You also need to download a second zipped file(RestofPackage.zip). It will contain a blank database (stablemanager.mdb) , a jocklist.txt file, and a 2008sirelist.txt file. These should be unzipped and placed in the folder where SM installed.
After installing
If you do not use SSS enter c:\Program Files\Stable Manager or use App.Path
2. You need to add a stable. Configure- Add a stable
a. Open your web browser to login to a stable
b. Right click on Manage Stable place the shortcut on your clipboard
c. Paste(Ctrl-V) this into the text box and click parse.
d. Enter your password and Write to database. You will then have the option to update the stable and the horses in it. Do this by clicking on the option. The program will go to the sim obtain the information and wrte it to the database.
3. Close out the Configure form , go to New Week --UpdateRaceSchedulei. After
the race cards for the week load you are free to explore. Run through the menu items and see what they do. All your stables are added the same way. Just repeat steps 2a thru 2d for each.
SM Menu
Change Week Number The week number is the Saturday sim day of the coming race week. The program takes care of the RODOTS from this number. It can be set here or in the intro screen. Just remember to save it.
Clear old database stuff You do this once a week when you are ready to move to a new week. It is part of a sequence- Set day, clear database and update the race cards
Update Race Schedule Downloads race cards and conditions for the coming week and saves to database.
Compact Database(s) Housekeeping that should be done every once in awhile to clean up and reduce the size of your two databases.
Racing
Race Scheduler The main purpose of the program - used to enter horses into races Load horse enables the PP module. Information on horse can be edited and saved on this screen.
